I am a GI fellow- but what does that mean. Here's a recap of what I do in a day (in under 60 seconds). Thanks to @SLUCare for producing this video!

I'm amazed at how energetic and positive Doc Schmidt always is. Most GI Fellows I know are always down in the dumps.

Love all your videos even though I'm not in the medical field(I just like to learn about stuff and at this point I know enough to at least understand the medical skits you do)
I have fun so thank you

Person with UC here, I am so thankful for GI Fellows and just the whole GI department. I’m so lucky and so grateful to have amazing doctors and nurses that helped diagnose me and get me through all this mess. I got hospitalized in 2020 for about a month in the middle of Covid so just having this doctor that was able to figure out what the problem was and get me on the right treatment was incredible. Thanks for all that you do man

As someone with Crohn's disease, it really is amazing how doctors deal with everything

Thank you doc Schmidt I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease during the pandemic and your videos helped me deal with the anxiety surrounding my tests and hospital visits.

You are an angel! And a pure delight to watch. I have suffered from Crohn's for 40 years now. My sister and I were the first two siblings to ever be discovered to have it in a related way. Case studies for years. My sister died in 2011 at 54 and I just keep trudging on. I will be 60 in January. I wish you and your humor had been around in 1981! If you ever need an expert's opinion on Crohn's, I'm available! Take care and God Bless you!

Awesome video I always wondered what a typical day is like for a GI fellow! It’s fascinating for me as someone who wants to become a GI physician myself. Amazing how you have such a busy schedule and can still crank out high quality vids like this, very impressive Doc Schmidt keep up the great content!

I really hope you will reach kids that are hoping to do good in the future. We need more doctors, we need more nurses, we need more of just about everyone in the medical field. But being a doctor is next level commitment! Incredibly hard and wonderfully rewarding! Thank you for your work, and for taking the extra time to help us understand!

ur clearly a great dr & only going to get better! funny too - which in ur field i think humor is important. my mom neglected a tumor in her large intestine, upper right curve. put it off so long it grew into the wall of her small intestine! almost ruptured. had a great, very experienced surgeon at UMD who said he never saw such a mess. it was stage 4 cancer by then, due to her neglect 😞 she just passed on the 21st. people don’t neglect anything a GI (or any doctor) finds!!
