FIRE in NYC !! FDNY firefighters BATTLE a fast moving ALL HANDS house FIRE in Astoria, Queens.

Location: Astoria, Queens.

A few minutes before midnight Friday evening Queens dispatch began receiving numerous 911 calls reporting fire on the second floor of a house. Upon arrival Engine 312 transmitted the 10-75 (code for a working fire) and reported fire venting from a second floor window. Companies quickly got to work stretching hose lines to extinguish the fire and luckily nobody was seriously hurt. Engine 312 and Ladder 117 were first due companies to this fire and did tremendous work along with many others.

I recently started training with my fire dept on Long Island I thought it was easy boy was I wrong. 100 plus pounds of gear and high temps it’s definitely not easy. Best way I can describe it is put on a 100 pound weight vest, crawl in your knees, pre beat the oven to 800 degrees and open the oven door that heat is the working environment inside a fire. Fun as hell but so tiring

Great coordination of opening roof first then knocking down the fire. Ground ladder also used at rear. Good job!
