Iran has unveiled its first-ever hypersonic missile, Fattah, which it says can penetrate missile defence systems and will give it a military edge.

State media on Tuesday published images of an unveiling ceremony, attended by President Ebrahim Raisi and senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), with the domestically made black missile visible.

Al-Muntaqim is an  long-range ballistic missile produced by IRGCAF in 2023.It is claimed to have a range of 2, 000 km (1, 200 mi) and Mach 15 speed. It can carry conventional warheads and can be launched by F14  interceptors.According to Iran, its high manoeuvrability and speed allows it to defeat all missile defence systems. The overall design of the missile is shared with the ground-launched Fattah missile, adapted for air launching with a modified guidance section for the Fattah. It can reportedly hit both static targets and mobile ones such as aircraft carriers.
The high speed of the missile give it better target penetration than lighter, slower cruise missiles

This is the least advanced types of hypersonic missile, it should not be compared with hypersonic glide vehicle & hypersonic cruise Kinzhal and YJ-21 are the same category, the least advanced type of hypersonic missile and the easiest one to develop

You don't compare-hypersonic ballistic missile with hypersonic cruise missile . Becouse ballistic missile usually maintain a Ballistic path and do some manoeuvre . But
#Usa have AN/TPY-2 Rader (4700km range) capacity to track 24mach speed target. #Israil have EL/M-2090 rader (above 1500km range). #India have Swordfish Rader (1500km range) capable to track 13-15mach speed 200 targets
In same time.Only ICBM scape this raiders. But others missile can't do this.
But, hypersonic cruise missile have this capability to fly low altitude. (10-25m), so Rader can't track this type of Missile above 50km.
That's why Crouse missile is so dangerous in short range. ☠️📈

QUESTION: Can a hypersonic missile attain the speeds required w/out going ballistic (out've the atmosphere)?? It seems like a 400sec flight time to Israel 🇮🇱 could be even shorter on a flatter trajectory, as opposed to one that needs to leave the atmosphere & then descend to the target. Thx in advance to any replies. 😉✌️✈️
