Number five: Don't be too tough on yourself. My therapist told me that in the 1990s, when I was in my 30s. It was one of the best things I ever got from therapy.

One of life's hardest lessons that everyone learns too late, is that sometimes you can do everything right and still lose.

I really love how perfect this thumbnail is!
Raiden wanted to keep things the same way and never change to achieve eternity because she didn’t want to loose anything which made her really sad and lonely

In my 50s, I wish I had heard this advice when I was in my teens and twenties. Far too much of these things I had to learn the hard way. Especially being able to work past the bad moments in life, because we all get them. Learning to deal with them to save your sanity when you don't have support can be rough. Even though I am in my 50s, hearing these tips are still helpful, no matter what your age.

I agree with all of these points, but I feel like another harsh truth we gotta learn in life is people will eventually leave us, and that we should always first learn to enjoy our own company, and learn to be alone, so that if something happens that makes us live alone in the future, we’re not scared about it.

As someone who is rapidly approaching '"old age", I can tell you that it is very true that you DO NOT regret things that you've done. Not even the mistakes. The most bitter regrets are about the things YOU DIDN'T DO. And, in the end, the only person who has to like you, is you.

I'm 19 and it wasn't until I went to college that I've become happy and quite content with my life. I looked back at what I did bad, started to work on my flaws... I'm so glad I've chosen the studies that I wanted to, cut off toxic relationships and changed my attitude towards life (from overly ambitious and full of stress to living more in the moment).

4:54 this one truly is something i appreciate the most. Exercise was the one thing that I'm sure people always gave up on after a while and are not fully commited, but since we are in a middle of a pandemic I just decided to start working out on 21 of November. I didn't think through it, I didn't tell myself I was gonna do it. I just did it and now about a month and a half I've lost a small amount of weight which I am still proud off even when it's only a small amount. Now the curveball to this story is that I have to return to school, and since I have to return to school now I got no free time or space to fit in my exercise routine and don't get enough sleep now. Thanks alot school

I was doing a lot of acting out when I was younger dealing with trauma, grief and loss and not understanding my emotions and feeling like nobody could understand me at all! But I’ve grown up and realize that holding grudges and bitterness doesn’t help and you can lose so many things in the process. I’ve missed out on alot of things. I’m 33 now and still don’t know what I will ultimately do with my life. I deal with major depression, anxiety, emotional detachment, insomniac sleep patterns and emotional eating. I’ve been an emotional eater for years, it has morphed into stress and binge eating at times. The pandemic has made things rather difficult emotionally, more than they were before. But this year, I’ve decided to prioritize my life and make the effort to change my situation, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I’m taking it one day at a time. I don’t want to be in the same place a year from now. I know it’s hard to move forward but I want to to be a better me because I know I’m meant for something great. 🤞🏾

I would like to add: Let go of the negative past. Some of us had a negative past, are angry about a person that did bad things /are angry about life being unfair. Let go of that, it doesn't help you it just holds you back. If you are always negative the life will be negative and so when you are old you look back on a negative life.

I'm 66 now and this is a great video. I think the most important things on the list are No 5, "Don't Be Too Hard On Yourself" and No 8, "Material Goods Don't Bring Your Life Joy". Also, I think that most people's greatest regrets are the things they DIDN'T do. I would also remind any young people reading this, that a "happy life" is nothing but a long string of happy days. You build your "happy life" one day at a time, starting now.

No regrets. I’m 43 and my only regret is the amount of energy I spent on regret when I was in my twenties. With all of that nervous energy gone I have no regrets.

“Life only happens once” that thought really scares me. Recently I’ve been having trouble coming to terms with this. I’m only hoping that as I age I can find peace despite this thought.

Be grateful is probably the best life advice that I could ever give anyone. Life doesn't always go according to plan and it's full of hardships, but counting your blessings and recognizing all the good in your life not only turns your view towards the positive, but over time will help you value things more. I know a lot of adults older than me who are miserable because they're ungrateful of what they have and are always focusing on what they don't.
