«The cap has a threaded brass insert that screws onto the valve stem. It's covered with a stainless steel, hexagon-shaped, outer shell. The tool for removing them looks like a socket that has some type of magnet inside it. When you slip the socket over the cap, it magnetically engages something in the cap to prevent the outer shell from just spinning around the brass insert. At least that's what it's supposed to do. It's made by Rectorseal, but I'm not sure they even still make them. They're junk in my opinion. I tried just using a magnet on top of the cap while using a wrench to turn it, but I couldn't find a magnet that it would be attracted to. It would only work with the "proprietary" tool, but even that doesn't work half the time.»

just ran into these today.. there is a 'special' tool that's needed for removal, but it's discontinued!!! I'm glad I found your video, great idea!
