SUPPLY LIST
Speedball Baren (optional - about $15.)
Unfinished wood egg (2.5 inch) (optional - you can use a wooden spoon)
Speedball Brayer (about $12.)
bench hook & inking plate
Speedball Carving tool (about $14.)
If you think you're going to want a variety of cutting tools for a variety of materials (linocut and different woods, etc.), these are my favorite carving knives:
Flexcut Palm Set
Minwax 1/2 pint Special Walnut Wood Finish (optional - about $5.)
Higgins White Waterproof Ink (optional - about $10)
8 x 10 unmounted linoleum (about $8.)
(this can be cut down to smaller sizes, and
should be lightly sanded with fine grit sandpaper
before you begin)
Apron
Non Skid Mat
Rubber Gloves
Akua Ink (Carbon Black)
Akua MagMix (modifier to thicken the ink)
Akua Transparent Base
2 oz. storage jars for leftover ink
(for this print, I used gray bfk rives paper, but it's a little hard to find)
try this lightweight printmaking paper by Strathmore. I've used it and I like it.
Colored Pencils (optional)
