I grew up during Karen's time & I always felt my life kind of echoed her's in the way that I had a family that I felt I could not live up to. A brother about 2 yrs older that was born perfect & my mother adored him. I could never be good enough. I am now in my mid sixties, my parents are both gone & my brother & I are finally getting closer. I wish Karen would have had the chance to find happiness. I listen to her songs & I am taken back to those times. My heart breaks for her. I pray she is at peace & home with our Lord.❤

The school she sang at was an elementary school where her God Children attended. All the children at the school knew was she was the nice lady that came to sing for them. They didn’t know she was “Karen Carpenter” it’s not like the band was with her. I believe she sang a cappella for them, not sure what songs she sang. They were pretty small kids.
