An outstanding example of a Italian 18th century walnut marquetry jewellery box dating back to c.1770.
The box features glorious marquetry 18th century pictures around the front,top,sides and back of the box of dancing figures.
It has its original chunky brass handle to the top, complete with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
Open the box to reveal the splendid original blue velvet interior complete with a fitted jewellery tray. Slide up the secret panel to the side to reveal two secret jewellery drawers, also with the original blue velvet, a rare and unusual feature on a jewellery box.
Superb quality and original condition measuring 29 x 20 and stands 20cm high.
A box that only comes around every so often, a true beauty!
