Woodturning a Stunning Spalted Ash Bowl

In this video, watch as I transform a piece of spalted ash into a beautiful bowl using my Record Power Coronet Regent wood lathe. I used Easy Wood Tools' mid-size range with standard rake cutters for the initial shaping, followed by Klingspor Abrasives sanding from 120 to 240 grit. To enhance the wood's natural beauty, I applied two coats of Hampshire Sheen Pre-thinned sanding sealer.

Next, I polished the bowl with Yorkshire grit from Easy Wood Tools, achieving a smooth 1000 grit finish. For a glossy, durable finish, I applied three coats of Hampshire Sheen High Gloss Wax, followed by two coats of microcrystalline wax.

Join me in this woodturning journey and see the step-by-step process to create a high-quality, glossy spalted ash bowl. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more woodturning projects!

I don't know how I missed this Andrew. It is a very pretty piece. Nice that you didn't color it. See you next week
