What an excellent teacher John is. Sadly this is the only video of his that's at my ability level but I still watched the others. I'd love to see some basic DIY around the home videos. My current challenges: putting up a kitchen roller blind (drilling into concrete), changing a light pendant and light switches safely, putting up a picture rail using a hand saw and mitre box. This is a great channel John - keep going, you're a breath of fresh air! Please give some consideration to us beginners, we need a teacher like you! 👋👋👋

Thanks John. I found your tips very clear and easy to follow. The visual coverage of parts by the camera was wonderful, as I was able to see each piece you were mentioning. I also enjoyed the paced at which you provided explanation of the steps. Well done!!

When attaching the drawer handle (as well as other items such as hinges) it is best to clamp the piece if possible to 1) prevent the screw from pushing the piece away and 2) pulling it back in as you continue to tighten, causing the wood to split. Sometimes, a very strong grip will work as well if you can manage.

What if the hole is smaller than the fastner, what should we do? I am assembling a table made of same material as shown in the video but fastners are rougly 5mm longer than the length of the hole? is there a way to deepen the hole instead of cutting the fastner?

IKEA uses Pozidrive screws almost exclusively, not Philips. If you keep losing grip or ruining the screw heads, there’s a good chance you’re using a Philips screwdriver.
