I think the problem with Naomi is that she wasn't confident in her ability after Vondroušová pretty much gave her a reality check that you can't just take a break and expect to immediately dominate in the Olympics. Then after the Olympics her confidence hit another low after getting spanked by Teichmann at the Cincinnati Open. I think Naomi knows now that she can't allow this to happen at the US Open especially as the defending champ. She has to find that confidence to continue in this tournament.
