Let me know if you need any other parts or tools, I will link things as they become available.

THE ACTUAL SCREEN REPAIR STARTS AT 4:02

Unfortunately the charging port on the BlackBerry Priv is NOT replaceable... unless you know how to solder.

The Rear Camera, Screen, Battery, Front Camera, and Loud Speaker are all replaceable on the Black Berry Priv though, so its a bonus for repair guys, and customers who like to FIX their phones instead of buying whole new devices.

Jerry - you are a lifesaver. Following your awesome step-by-step instructions, I was able to take my Priv apart and replace my broken screen. The new screen I ordered came with the slide mechanism attached so I couldn't do the simple screen separation technique you mentioned... I had to perform major surgery!

But, unafraid and armed with your video, I was able to do it myself.

I can't thank you enough. Definitely subscribing to your channel!

I really love my BlackBerry Priv! Such a perfect design! I watched his tear-down to see how easy it is to replace the battery! It's really not that bad at all! Thank you for this video!

Just completed the screen change out on my Priv. This video is excellent in showing you exactly what needs to be done. One thing to note - make sure you use a plastic tool to pry out the battery like he does. I had a minor short using a metal one.

DUDE! I just changed out the battery on my PRIV and I did not break anything! Was kinda scary at first, but I did it. Thanks! Great video!

I found this video absolutely perfect to just replace the battery. I used a hair dryer as instructed to slowly melt the adhesive under the battery after prying it up a little to let in some of the hot air. I then gradually pulled it up with the tab. I put the old adhesive plastic on the back of the new battery and everything went back together easily. Thank you, Jerry.

Thanks for doing such a great job of this. My phone wasn't working after I accidentally got water in it, but with this vid I was able to tear it down, let it dry, and put it back together again. it's working now, better than before.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to post this great clip which helped me replace my screen-module quickly ... with no bent or leftover parts. May I add that the screws attaching the screen sliders are T3.

Thanks so much for this awesome video! My PRIV volume buttons went dead, and watching this video and after ordering the buttons strip and back cover I changed all the parts in less than half an hour. Just a minor detail: you mention a T5 screw driver and I used a T4 on mine, the T5 didn't fit on the screws... Anyway, thanks so much for the time you took doing this ilustrating and awesome video.

Thank you so much for this great, informative video! Instead of an expensive replacement or shop repair, I was able to do this myself with thanks to EBay (for the spare part), a Torx screwdriver kit, tweezers and a hairdryer (and a reel of double sided sticky tape to stick the battery back down). I was being super cautious so it took about 90 minutes, 20 of these fighting to get the case off! It got easier after that, and the only mistake I made was to not align the headphone jack in properly before putting all the motherboard screws back on ;-) Super video, so happy with my repair. Would not have been able to do it without you!!

I just bought one of these refurbished.
Nice to know that essential repairs can be done so easily. Also happy to see that thirsty, toatsy 808 thermal pasted to the midframe.
I'll have to take care of that slide mechanism though, seeing how intricate it is.

I'm sick right now, but instead of sleeping and getting...better, I'm actually binge watching your videos. I have a few questions, though. 1- What microphone do you use? 2- What camera do you use? 3- What do you do with the phones after your videos? Do you have to return them afterwards?

Thanks so much for this great video! After almost three years, battery of my priv died - and with the help of your awesome tutorial could replace it within 15 minutes (only horror was actually the glue on the back...). 35 Euros (incl. shipping) for the new (original!) battery - no way I could have bought a new phone for that price. And: This solution is also much more sustainable, love it! Thanks again :-)

Helped a lot, thank you so much. One piece of additional advice would be the locations of the 3 tabs on top of the phone, very important to know where they are so as not to break the plastic by the sim/sd card slots. Lucked out myself as had a spare to practice on when replacing my screen and front frame!

wow!!!  solidifies my want for a priv even more!! Blackberrys have always been so easy to repair and replace parts on yourself!! I just my Z30 easiest repair yet!! I'm super glad to see they've still managed to keep it simple even with such a complex phone!!

Thank you so much for this video.

Since that tiny little tool to open the sim card and sd card is a nuisance to keep track of, I discovered when I had to do this. A replacement that is the correct size is available in most people's odds ends drawer. A small safety pin is the right size. Open the pin and cut off the sharp tip. I used the wire pinch in a pair of pliers. It works perfectly and I usually have safety pins around.

Okay Jerry if my priv is ever broken ill send it to you. This is impressive stuff. I congratulate blackberry on this design so much. 3410mah battery, 18mp rear camera, and a capacitive physical keyboard in such a thin sliding mechanism .

This worked perfectly. I took the phone apart and replaced the screen & slider. So far, so good. Thank you!

My battery recently bloated up on my priv, so cheers for this video. My phone spent a lot of time in a hot car and quite frequently told me that it was too hot and was cooling itself down.
