Kas:st: The French duo that frees itself from the codes of techno

The leap into the void, without a traced path, pre-determined plan, or fixed ambition. Active since 2014, the French of Kas:st have stood out with hit songs, counting millions of cumulative views thanks to titles such as “Nepal” or “Raving Alone”. In five years, they can already boast of having set up their own record label - Flyance Records - and signed releases with other major labels such as Concrete Music. But this beginning of success does not make them forget their artistic inclinations.

Installed under the Catalan sun, the duo embarked on a daring project last June. Every month, for a year, the pair will share a new track, often made in the weeks leading up to its release. A way to stay in the present moment, in the spontaneity of musical creation. A Road To Nowhere, which will eventually be compiled and released as a 12-track disc, representing the 12 months of the past year. And the first half suggests a musical kaleidoscope, navigating between hovering deep techno, touches of liquid drum N bass, and the dazzling acid offered by a remix of the Italians of 999999999. But in the end, impossible to guess the rest, Karol and Manuel wish to continue producing without style constraints. The only watchwords: emotion, travel, and experimentation. Before their appearance at the Parisian evening Possession, on March 23, Kas:st took the time to talk to us about his music and his inspirations.
