"I think I have the perfect size puller for this bearing". Grabs the angle grinder! I laughed out loud!
Well played!

Damn, I can’t wait to see the smile on your face as you drive that thing out of that barn!

I cant believe how tight those bearings were on there. And those "Scratches" from the death wheel, ahh they're just new and improved oil valley's. And Matt, a time lapse of you cleaning those bits wouldn't be boring at all, I strangely find it very relaxing watching that stuff.

Mr. Hillbilly with a capital H. I am so impressed with the thinking process that you deduce or process these dismantling procedures. One really great job. I remember helping in a shop that repaired these machines and they sent everything out to be done.... we were glorified parts swapping engineers. I did dignify our title a bit as we sent stuff out and then didn't see it back for months and then put it back together again. I also remember that we had some "Ah s**ts" when assembly times came as one side "no, its this way" and that went on for a week as well. I will give you a A+ for diligence and fortitude.

In the dictionary under “determined” is a picture of Matt. Well done.

I would just install a simple block heater (in your fill tube, dip stick, spare freeze plug knock-out or any ideal available area) and put it on a timer or just remember to plug it in a few hours before you want to start the dozer. Installing an intake heater is pretty time intensive and is another failure point. You could preheat the whole intake manifold with a portable butane torch pretty fast in the winter, which may be a handy solution?

YA DID IT! Hillbilly engineering at it's best! You've got all your fingers and eyes and Charlie didn't have to bark at 911. Your voice did sound a bit nervous, but I don't blame you. I probably would have looked for a football helmet. But like you say "The worst is over", but all the heavy lifting still remains. Be careful, be safe, and good luck with the "easy" stuff. The D4 is rising!

I really enjoy your simple format. No slick intros or video animation, just us fella's in the shop with you.

Puller was probably some of those pkgs they found in that gully in Alabama. Lol

*- Not knowing anything about doing this, it sure looked good and appropriately thought out to me.*
*- I am especially appreciative of ALL the well spoken, supportive and insightful commentary below.*

I’m gonna wrap this 10K psi fitting with sheet metal and plastic zip ties in case it blows! Yeah! That’ll stop it! Love this series and seriously…. I’m really hoping you don’t get hurt!

It was nice to hear you call Charlie by name instead of just calling him Dog! GSDs are such special animals that In my opinion they deserve to be called by name!!

Love this series of videos. Good luck going forward. One small correction however, it does get cold in the PNW. You are obviously west of the Cascades Mtns. over in the rain belt where temps are mild. I am east of the mtns. over in the snow belt north of Spokane, still officially the PNW. And it gets very cold here. Below 0°F. Intake heaters are a good idea, or for an easier solution a simple block heater. I use both on my diesel equipment and don't notice much difference in starting performance. And keep your batteries maintained with a trickle charger. Hugely important. And by the way I know the term hillbilly well. My surname is Hill and was a source of fun when younger. And further, now live in a very remote area, in the hills.

If squatch can do it, then you can do it yourself. You are the best, .and your patience is outstanding. I remember sqatč hiding while he pumped and installed his.

Congratulations I did not see any medal flying over Florida so all is well. Nice work.

For preheating the engine in the winter I would probably go for a small diesel heater and do plumbing to also heat up the coolant

The best Bearing puller ever. A cutoff grinder, hammer and a chisel. 👍
