Hey everyone Frank Ó'hÁinle here the author of the LOTR series here at Wizards and Warriors. Just wanted to say thank you for all of the support so far and to let everyone know that we have taken your feedback on board and will be focusing solely on the books in coming videos. I hope you all continue to enjoy the series just as much as I have in writing it and look forward to hearing your thoughts on this video and all things Tolkien in the next while.

Merry Christmas and Happy holidays,
Frank Ó'hÁinle

The Kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor reminds me of the Western and Eastern halfs of the Roman Empire because of how the kingdoms were formed after the fall of Numenor and how the Kingdom of Arnor in the west fell (like the Western Roman Empire) while the Kingdom of Gondor in the east continued the Numenorean legacy (like the Eastern Roman/Byzantine Empire).

The state of Rohan at it's introduction of Two Towers was so beautiful in its ruin. Peter Jackson has truly great moments on screen

Just take some time to ponder on the fact that these epic conflicts are but a *tiny fraction* of Tolkien's incomparably vast histories.

Well today i learned that in the end the witch king did kinda win his wars in the north. Angmar did fall, but hey its only purpose was destroying Arnor so who cares if a few orcs and evil humans die along the way.
Great Video, finally this part of the LOTR-Lore is understandable with a live-map and animations ^^

Just a minor mistake: the Éothéod weren't established south of Dol Guldur but far in the north in North Anduin near Ered Mithrim and Gundabad between the rivers Greylin and Langwell in TA 1977. They were lead by Frumgar at the time and migrate his people to the north where they established Framsburg as a capital (although they had been established south of Mirkwood after the destruction of Rhovanion). Eorl and his forces had to cross Lorien in order to help Gondor.
Ahead of that is a really good job!

One very interesting fact is that when Eorl the Young made his way south, Galadriel put out a mist that covered the army and the sound that the army made so that the ork scouts wouldn't see them.

Tiny correction, Isildur planted the white tree in Minas Anor in memory of his brother, he saved that sapling from minas Ithil during its siege by Sauron

After you finish your War of the Ring series, I'd freakin' love a series about the Wars of Beleriand, finishing at the War of Wrath.

This is brilliant. Having only seen the movies I really appreciate the added context around Isildur and his death, makes his choices a lot more relatable. Tolkein was such a legend, his world reads just like history.

There's a minor imprecision on the map that is shown at 11:18. The land between Bree and the Weather Hills was not controlled by Rhudaur originally, it was disputed territory. Rhudaur's territory consisted of (according to LOTR, Appendix A) the land between the Ettenmoors, the Weather Hills and the Misty Mountains, and the Angle between the Hoarwell and the Loudwater. Bree itself was very close to Cardolan's border (on the Great Road) and could have been part of that kingdom. But great video though. I love Kings and Generals and this new channel is great. I'm looking forward to seeing more content from Tolkien's Legendarium here.
