The user MIDI templates are a great addition and the editing is really straightforward! But, we still need to be able to use NRPNs to be able to control important aspects of many modern hardware synths. There are also some issues with encoder "pickup" on the controlled software or synth. I'm sure those additions and more are in the works, right? :)

I had a 15 years old Novation MIDI keyboard that was able to do that. NI is sort of behind. How come you only added this feature to Mk3? I'm almost sure the basic things like MIDI template is not limited to Mk3.
