The first time my husband ever heard me playing this song he laughed his butt off. He said he liked the song though he said whoever wrote it had one really wicked sense of humor writing a song about cheating and giving the man in the song the name of Mr. Peters. To this day I still love listening to this song and always think of what my husband said and have myself a good laugh while hearing a really great song.

Always great from Roy Drusky. Love his voice. He & Priscilla Mitchell awesome duets. Both originally from metro Atlanta, Ga area, as was her husband Jerry Reed. RIP all 3, great artists.

The lady singing here with the Mr. Smooth, Roy Drusky, was in real life Mrs. Jerry R. Hubbard. Jerry Hubbard was better known as Jerry Reed of Smokey and the Bandit fame. She was as good of a singer as there was in Nashville but did not like all that went with it. So she was happy with being Mrs J. R. Hubbard. And raising a family.

Great song!... heard a interview with Margie Singleton and this song was supposed to be the follow up to keeping up with the Jones' ...Her and Faron Young would have been great on this song to. She said her husband was the AR man at Mercury divorced her and took the song with him...so it never happened and she got dropped from Mercury.. nice interview
