Hey Jenny, glad to see you again. I can't find the quote per say but I recall reading how some people in your life are there to get you to the next part in life so you meet new people and so forth, growing as a person essentially. It happens more common than most people think. I realize I am lucky to have a group of friends since high school that I continue to hang with even as they have gotten married and kids and the whole package. And the hair looks good on you by the way!

I'm new here and glad you are doing good. I hope you have a great summer. Very interesting video, i agree with a lot you said, just two cents, no critique: Friendship to me means showing up, being there when needed, and everything beyond that are basically non-verbal, unwritten social contracts. A give and take between people, to put it in really cold and simple terms. Something that comes with burden for younger generations until they realize that the burden of social contracts also comes with privileges and a whole ton of social stability. So, it's natural for young people in friendships to just not contact each other for a few days all up to literal years. In order for active contact the person has to have the time, capacity and a reason to think of their friend. And once they think of their friend they will contact them. What helps with that is doing stuff together, having moments or things that connect and will trigger pleasant memories in each of you. That's why presents just for the present's sake never really work for any relationship, their only connection is "x gave me it", and if they don't use it regularly there's no reason for memories to get triggered over it. In short: Friendships are never gone, unless one person calls it quits, but you can only really be part of a steady group of friends if you simply show up. And that's the easiest when you have similar hobbies that regularly put you into the same physical location.
