The Russian empress Catherine the Great was extremely friendly towards Greeks. She knew history pretty well. The reason she created all these cities in what currently is known as Ukraine ( Marioupoli, Symferoupoli, Sevastoupoli etc ). The "Greek Project" was hers. Much earlier after Constaninoupoli fell, Greek masters helped and taught Russians how to be the next Emperors. We really have interesting ties. The fact is Greeks always see Russians favorably even today.
