I agree that the things he's listed should be viewed as basic to modern civilization. But let's not pretend that women's rights, the rights of children, or even the right to free speech are our traditional values: all three are the fruits of long, hard cultural struggle to change views and attitudes and laws for the better. They should, by now, be outside anything we might consider culture wars although they were originally the object of much, and often fervent, passionate, sometimes even violent contestation. It's not so long ago, after all, that suffragettes were thrown into prison and tortured to make them give up their democratic project.

The Anglo-sphere Right needs to understand it completely got the economics wrong. If the nation state doesn't control international finance, international finance will control the nation state

However they are viewed, these are precisely culture war question not least history. In fact, this is what makes it so dangerous, to say these aren't culture war questions so don't criticise the context in which they are raised nor the terms of the debate.
