I give my opinion on each current F1 teams iconic livery’s and why makes them iconic. Most were pretty easy but some were toss up and some aren’t iconic for the right reasons.

I think that just because a team changes its name or ownership does not mean that its a different team. So to me if I'm using Aston Martin as an example when it was Racing Point and Force India its still the same team and therefore you should have take into consideration all the liveries.

I competely agree about the black livery for Mercedes. For Ferrari it's a tough one as all their liveries are so similar. My favorite is the 312T2 of 1977. And for Williams i do think the white livery of the first years really worked, especially on the FW08 of 1982...

My take that is based on how cool the liveries are (to me):

Ferrari - 2013 to 2020
Merc - 2014 to 2016
Red Bull - 2013 to 2014 and 2016 to 2021
McLaren - the West years and 2019 to 2022
AlphaTauri/Toro Rosso - 2021 (AT), 2017 to 2019 and 2006 to 2016 (TR)
Sauber - 2011 to 2012 (Sauber) and 2022 (Alfa Romeo)
Haas - 2018, 2020, and 2022
Williams - HP BMW era, 2011-2013, the Martini years, and 2021
Renault - Mild Seven Telefonica era (Alonso's time), 2010 (gigakubica), the entirety of the Lotus years, 2018 to 2020, 2021 and 2022

I would pick the toro rosso str3. The one Vettel won in Monza too. Was their and his first victory in F1.

In my opinion for mercedes i would say the brawn gp01 livery.

What I want to see if not about iconic, but rather a color scheme that is unique and never change, even though ads put on the car comes and goes year by year but everyone knows what car it is. It is like Ferrari, everyone can tell because it is all red, in regardless of the sponsorship. National racing colors would be great. Ferrari being red as that is the italian national racing color. Alpine uses the French national racing color blue, Aston Matin the UK color of green. McLaren uses their New Zealand racing color of orange. Mercedes should be using the German national racing color of Silver. Alfa Romeo can use Italian racing color red, but in order to not be confused with Ferrari, since the 70s they always used red and white. Haas should be blue and white, US national racing color. Neither red bull nor Alphatauri needs to switch to national colors because they are essentially racing billboards. Willaims should return to their early 80s livery of green and white. It was a color for the Saudi airline sponsor, but being green and white can also be regarded as a national racing color. To avoid clashing with Aston Matin, just keep their old green and white scheme.
The whole idea is that people can recognize which team is which simply by spotting the color of the car, and once get to the point that everyone knows their favorite cars color scheme, then sponsors ads will be very effective. For example, a blue car comes in and we know it is an alpine right away, so whatever stickers that the team put in, it makes the ads even more effective in the long run. Think about it, Putting an ad of french vine on the blue car, or other French and Franophone product ads.

The rothmans williams before the canon one.and the silver mclaren off 98 instead of the marlboro one for me but the ones you say ARE MORE iconic indeed in general.but i started watching in 1997 so...maybe that influences my choices and i also loved the ferrari of this year tbh with the black instead of white, it really works well but he wil b far from iconic unless you remeber all the mistakes they made(in that regard they are iconic sadly) but good choices from your end tho
