Short answer: yes so long as he isn’t around your locks

This isn't a slight against Wranglestar, I just find it amusing that LPL picks most locks in the amount of time it took Wranglestar to figure out how to insert the actual key.

I mentioned on Harry's channel before that this is a great lock, but it's a double edged sword. By using a visibly nice lock on a covered trailer, it makes it appear you have something very valuable inside that is worth the effort. Be sure to reinforce the trailer door locks as well, cuz those have now become the weak point.

Not only can he be trusted, I trust him more than I trust myself.

In the words of LPL “locks only keep honest men honest”

Never show your key on camera, they can often be copied by sight with a good picture. Of course that would have to be a targeted attack on you.

I have to park my work trailer, unsupervised, loaded with all of my tools, on remote job sites. I use this lock for the coupler, and "titan" wheel locks on each wheel, with locking lug nuts so nobody can take the wheels off, replace them with spares, and drag the trailer away.
So far so good!
I've also been considering installing a GPS tracker for "worst case" scenarios

Not going to lie. I was clickbaited. I was like "oh no, I hope one of my favorite channels isn't going to start drama with another and make me choose like a kid in a divorce" 😅

2:53 A very secure lock. Even the owner can’t unlock the mechanism and he has the key haha. Edit: Excellent job by the way. And while a very practical setup, also a solid, professional looking lock and that alone can be a deterrent.

Took him longer to figure out the key than it takes LPL to pick most locks lol

When my brother was alive he was a career criminal, and whenever we spoke he was always giving me advice on how to avoid just about any theft and scam. One thing that I always get a smile out of is when he said you don't need or have to have the most secure locks, you just need to look more secure than your neighbour! He was full of information that no-one should know.

Install a battery powered GPS tracker on trailers. Paint the license number on the top of the trailer .

Short answer. Yes.
Not only does he time himself, show the tools used. He walks you through what he did and why he did it that way. For more complicated locks he shows the mechanisms inside the lock etc.

I have a similar lock for my snowmobile trailer. One thing that I do (and was recommended by the manufacturer) that I think would work in your case too is to hook the safety chains BEFORE putting it into the ball hitch and then twist that piece a couple of times to take the slack up on the safety chains, then attach it. The chains will now be tighter and not hang as low and make it tougher for someone to just connect some chains to your dangling chains. Try it out... curious if it works with that design hitch and lock.

Man these thumbnails and titles are getting beyond ridiculous.

You said you had a trailer stolen from you on a dark night, when the power went out. You also said most thieves are men of opportunity, and I agree, it was probably someone in your neighborhood/close by with prior knowledge of it who stole it.

Option 1: Unscrew safety chains, install new one, take trailer.
Option 2: load trailer on a trailer brought with you.

Twist the chains a couple times around each other before slotting them. That way you shorten them and make them hard to work with.
