Could you talk in a few more circles, please?

"Adrian thought he would have a bigger presence, but noticed that his screen time had been cut. As he watched, he noticed he had a diminished role, even though he thought he would have a bigger role, but his role was made smaller because the director cut his screen time, resulting in a smaller screen presence than he expected, and greatly affected how much he was seen on the screen, which wasn't very much at all, considering his expectations..."

Over editing can ruin a fils storyline. I like watching longer directors versions. You get the story as it is intended by the screen writer

You have said that he had less screentime than he thought he would about 5 times...

Yes I did know and he is still bitter today and rightfully so. That film was not an easy shoot and he knew nothing of what happened until he showed up for the premiere, which is wrong and embarrassing.

" okay Brody, I want you to walk around like your lost while looking sad"

To bad they cut out the part of Micky Rourke playing the "Shell Shocked" sniper. Awesome performance for only two minutes.😔

My uncle was a decorated officer in some artillery unit. He told me the movie was largely, for a work of art, an authentic depiction of the battles (uncle was there)

All good actors. Too bad the remake didnt stick to the book - a true story too!

There's a lot of characters in the book that didn't get much screen time.

Books like "The Thin Red Line", "Black Hawk Down", "Flags of Our Fathers" could be made into a multi-part miniseries if you were to cover most of the books content.

Malick is an amazing director and it's a brilliant movie, one of the best war films ever made. Probably one of the best films, period! It's two and a half hours long. Brody should have had more time sure, but movies can almost never contain as much content as novels. And any way you shape it, a movie is different from a book. People should absolutely read "Thin Red Line" apart from the movie. But no one can take the incredible accomplishment of this work away from Malick. It is a masterpiece!

A good friend of mine who's sister is an actress once has over 30 minutes of screen time and dialog in a movie. After editing when the film was released, it was only 5 minutes. 😂

Fife was still an important character in this film. Please do more of these on The Thin Red Line!!

My grandfather fought at Guadalcanal as a Marine. I've got his dog tags in front of me right now with his fingerprint embossed in the metal. He died in 2000 when I was 18. He was a good guy

As long as the checks cleared, who cares? Everyone knows he's a great actor.

My whole life, in real life, has been like that.

I wanted to like this movie as much as Saving Private Ryan or even the series Band of Brothers, especially because that theater of battle is underrepresented, but I found the story to be forgettable. Maybe the change in story/focus is at least partly why.
