The OMEGA Seamaster 300 We Wish Omega Would Bring Back

Показать описание
The Omega Seamaster has a rich and complex history that encompasses a broad range of styles over the generations. Odds are strong that each of us conjures a slightly different image upon hearing the word Seamaster, from the Bond examples of the ‘90s, to the PloProf of the ‘60s, or even the quaint, near formal examples from the ‘40s. That breadth is reflected in the modern Seamaster collection, which currently encompasses the Aqua Terra, the Diver 300, the Planet Ocean, and a range of Heritage models that include the likes of the Railmaster and the PloProf. This diversity of options has meant plenty of great references have come and gone, and a few may have even slipped through the cracks through no fault of their own. This Missed Review will focus on one such reference, the titanium Seamaster 300 2231.50.00 from the early ‘00s.

I have this exact watch bought new in 2006. Worn it all over the world as a traveller because it's inconspicuous, light, comfortable and has great lume. I recently put it on a timegrapher and it showed zero, that's zero, plus or minus seconds per day. After 17 years! Admittedly I don't wear it everyday which probably helps greatly to reduce the necessity for servicing. Can't remember the amplitude but it was well within range, and steady. This watch is bullet proof.

Love this "Peter Blake" generation of Seamasters - really handsome design (the arrow hands and the large lumed 12 o'clock indicator are iconic). The quartz one will likely be my next milestone/daily watch!

Love my 2231.80. Bought it for my father with my first paycheck, then inherited it back when he passed. I have small wrists but this is such a wearable watch due to its low profile and light weight.

Bought the 2231.50 today. Already have the 2232.80 - the Ti blue one. Very nice pieces. My most precious one is different though : a top condition 1963 165.024, all original, with original bracelet.

My first good watch, bought with my first salary. Couple of purchases further, this one is still my most frequently worn watch. It’s sooo comfortable on the wrist.

Thanks for taking a look at this watch in detail. We don't often get to see such in depth reviews of watches from the days before YouTube and watch blog sites. I would love for Omega to create a revival of the 2254.50, except in titanium, with a modernized, quick adjust bracelet. I know they would feel compelled to put their co-axial master chronometer movement in it, but I wouldn't need it.

I really enjoy my 2231.80, such great proportions and with the titanium wears so well.

This is great. I really love the videos about what will be considered neo vintage classics or icons . Would love something like this on the Tudor tigers or iwc 3706 or some other Neo vintage sleepers too

I have an electric blue and blue bond. Eyeing this to complete the trifecta and finally have one I can wear and not care if I get it scuffed doing manual labor lol. I always want an omega on the wrist but afraid to ruin them. This 2231 is a true tool

The Blue Wave version was my first good I admired it on the wrist of my boss at my first job. We didn't have the watch community back then that we have now, so I never managed the courage to ask him if I could try it three years later I turned 25 and bought one for myself. I still have it, and it reigns over all that have come and gone since. Bravo for a fine tribute to a BEAST of a design! (now I need a Titanium version to keep the old, blue-faced girl company)

I just received the blue faced version today and it’s immediately my favorite Omega of the 4 in my collection. Amazing

That’s the best version of the seamaster imo

I always lobed Omega, and when i was looking for a dive watch it jad to be a Seamater. I chose this reference for all the features you mentioned and it is, in my opinion more special as you don't tend to see it in the wild as often as others. This is the first video ive seen that covers this reference so well. Thank you

I believe Omega should've kept the hour markers on this dial rather than the ones on the new Seamaster 300m. It looks fantastic and it's unique.

My 2265.80 is my daily, a beauty on the wrist, the one solid quartz in my collection cause you don’t see the movement, it’s all about the perfect execution of that dial and bracelet, it’s iconic

Bought a 300M in 2002, Ref 2054 (basically the more common 2254, but with the five link 'Bond' (European)bracelt. Loved it then and love it now, but ... about ten years ago I saw this 2231.50 positioned against some knife in some gear ad and thought WHAT IS THAT?! Had the jeweler I bought my 2054 from had this titanium version in stock it would have definitely taken the day. I love the clean look.
