In solitude, I'm not by myself, I'm WITH myself. I love solitude!

I have learned over the years that most people make me feel more alone than my own company.

Solitude is not loneliness. It's about finding peace within yourself and appreciating the beauty of your own company! Just beautiful! Thank you.

I am 68, I drive a truck long distance. I am by myself in the truck, but I am seeing the Sun rise, the Moon set, the trees change, etc. I think I can live with myself well into my future.

73 and relish being alone. I am not anti-social, love company and conversation, but when I get back to my home and self always quietly grateful, feel blessed. Hope I can remain this way by the Grace of God. 🙏

70 here. I've lived alone for decades. I easily entertain myself with chronic curiosity. I enjoy some friends, but I have no time for stupid.

I am 92 now, lost my wife 20 tears ago.
In spite of having 3 sons & their family who are very loving & carrying for me, I decided to move out from big city to mountains & thick forests. Keep myself busy with strawberry farming, long walks in forests, reading, cooking, listening to music .
I care for others by restoring & managing village hospital giving free Medicare to the villagers.
I live alone with my dog but never lonely enjoying my solitude.
My children visit me off & on, happy for that but maintain my detachment . Never depressed enjoying every day of my life.

I was raised by a narcissistic mother and ended up in a 25 year relationship with a narcissistic man. Didn't realize it till decades later, cut off from both AND THEIR ENABLERS 5 years ago. At 60 I'm finally at peace.

Being alone is often confused with being lonely. For me, one has very little to do with the other. Loneliness has nothing to do with the presence or absence of another person. It has everything to do with your relationship to yourself.

Reading, painting, meditating, walking, feeding the wildlife, writing, wondering, daydreaming, gardening, watching the weather, enjoying the vistas, corresponding with family and friends, doing the chores, sitting on the porch with a friend now and then...not tired of any of it yet after 25 years of living alone in an isolated cabin.
