Learn about the Giant Australian cuttlefish aggregation near Whyalla with Prof. Bronwyn Gillanders

Показать описание
Professor Bronwyn Gillanders from the University of Adelaide has spent many years studying the giant Australian cuttlefish (Sepia apama) that breed in the waters of northern Spencer Gulf in South Australia. Every winter, the cuttlefish converge on rocky reefs between Whyalla and Fitzgerald Bay to find mates, lay eggs and die. These animals live by the phrase "live fast and die young". This talk was originally given to celebrate National Science Week in 2020.
