The Memphis Depay BAN is CRAZY: Is Joga Bonito Dead?

CBF decided to “ban” a skill move from Memphis Depay, when done the player will get a yellow card.

This restriction to a basic provocation as a skill move is one of the many reasons why Joga Bonito has been dead and this time the damage is being done by Brazil, the creator of joga bonito.

Memphis Depay literally got a transfer to the Brasilerao because he was tired of playing robotic football in Europe. haha Joga Bonito is dead for sure..

Joga Bonito died due to European influence over the global game, Europe’s tactical revolution has completely taken over the sport leading to less and less room for player creativity. The only area of football where Joga Bonito could maybe still shine is international football where tactics are less rigid due to teams only being together for short time periods, we even see this with players like James Rodriguez who plays as a classic #10 and still shines internationally despite a journeyman club career. Another issue is Brazilian clubs selling their players at way to early an age and they get the flair coached out of them in Europe. With the Brasileirão’s growth hopefully this leads to Brazilian clubs gatekeeping their talent and where they go to

Há problemas com os atletas? Sim.
Há problemas com os técnicos? Sim.

Thing is, from what I'm hearing this seems like a smokescreen to direct attention from all the controversy surrounding the CBF revealed by the Píaui, which of course says a lot about the the useless and despised organization that the CBF is.

Also you have to remember that jogo bonito is not really a style or view within Brazil. No one I know refers to it this way, especially as a syle of play. It's seems more like a buzzword used by Europe and the US to describe the "Brazilian syle", while since the 90's Brazilian coaches adopted an overly conservative and defensive style.

Jobs bonito is dead because everyone is so hyper fixated on winning. This is a game of chess, and in chess you don’t want your pawns doing triple backflips on the way to their position, you just want them to move there.

Jogo bonito's death makes me remember the death in the NBA of one-on-one players or "hero ball". The game evolved, and I think it's an exaggeration to call it "robotic", just that team's effort now outweight individuals in general terms, and Brazil has not been catching up with the times.

Wasn't aware of this incident. I am older and am fairly young in terms of my football fandom, but part of the allure of football was the skill of particular players and countries. Growing up we didn't watch any football but when the world cup came around, we were sure to watch Brazil. That was mainly due to not only the players but the way they played the game, which included flair and a passion for the sport they love. And that love was palpable, through smiles, dancing and flair.

The situation involving Depay was just to change the media's focus on news involving corruption in the CBF, since it has been done in the past and there were no problems.

But they did this in Europe too. Who doesn't remember Neymar being punished when he played in France for this type of skill?

In Brazil, since 2006, after we lost the World Cup with a dream team, this issue of "Joga Bonito" has been questioned a lot. People started saying that Brazilian players were terrible tactically, that what really matters is winning, and that Brazilian football should focus on improving tactically and not encouraging players to make moves that could mess up tactical positioning or lose the ball.

So we had extremely defensive and tactical coaches, Dunga, Mano Menezes, Tite.

But the popular will of the fans is always in favor of "Joga Bonito".

Pep's situation in this has alwas been so weird because he piggy backed off Cruijf's style which is second to Brasil in fluidity and freedom on the pitch, but someway along the lines he decided to make it stupid rigid and robotic

I'm Indonesian.
When I see clip about Memphis Depay, I don't see the problem of doing that. It's the spice on football game, and it's okay for me.

Why CBF dive to this and make unimportant decision?

Joga bonito was the best marketing creation by Nike and that’s it. Even Brazilians use it nowadays

My theory is this

-We sell our players to European clubs to early by the time these kids 14 they get shipped out to Europe which gives most players that robotic way of playing.

- we are trying to be too much like Europe with their tactics every club in Brazil plays like Real Madrid.

-Coaches are forcing players to not do jogo bonito but instead they want them to pass the ball around till they get to the box there’s no freedom with the players anymore they play with no soul.

Just look up a luxemburgo interview he talks about this and one of the things he said was that we got a rid of grass fields everything is turf now. He goes into details about how we changed the dynamic of how we used to play. Just look it up
