Hi Ruth, I am new to Blockly. It seems a lot easier then Scratch for Lego. How did you create the Stop light and did you create your own coding for this program? Excellent presentation. Thank you for sharing.

please please please help - my kid is 12 he's pretty clued up with Scratch and followed dozens of yt tutorials... and wanting to learn something new which is why i've looked to blockly.

but its a nightmare! with scratch i simply opened a web browser but with this blockly the getting started page is so confusing. I'm reading something about using npm which i signed up but then immediately got lost :(

any info you (or anyone) can give would be a huge help - i'm not a coder in any way but scratch was fairly straight forward. But my child is way beyond what i learned and followed now and i just cant understand how to set this blockly up as i cant even find a basic web browser page to allow him to get started with it!

ok just finish your other DEMO videos Brackets works good but starting with the DEMO generator it work unless you forget to copy all the compressed.js files into the project window if your using the Live Preview tool in Brackets
but once you do that you can do code testing .... and after remember to re-code the external reference files ....

OPS ... just woke up and realized i am wrong ... i was learning two things at same time .... and i miss the bigger picture ...

BLOCKLY & Brackets ....

first i unzipped BLOCKLY into new myPROJECT directory

then followed your suggestion and looked at the directory tree to find the directory tree

demos/generator/index.html

then copied the two files to a new test directory structure in my myPROJECT directory



now when i used Brackets i made my mistake i did not understand what it meant by OPEN FOLDER when referring to PROJECT

i was setting it to blocklytest/ which caused problems for the Brackets Live Preview

the Browser would not show the Blockly Toolbox part of your code but it all worked when i did normal index.html into browser

so i thought it broken

but i just woke up and realized i was not using the Brackets scope right .... when i changed the OPEN FOLDER to the master directory that contains all files that the index.html file needs to work with .... it work correctly ...

Brackets OPEN FOLDER reset to myPROJECT

now i can OPEN file index.html and it work correctly ....

BTW your helpful videos are GREAT its just our lack of seeing the full picture which holds us back and some time we take 3 steps back to make 5 steps forward when we open our eyes

before you say why would you do that, I DONT HAVE A LAPTOP CUZ I DONT HAVE THE MOENY AND NEITHER DO MY PARENTS

now as I was saying: every time I try loading the demo html lages they keep coming blank (the blocks are not there), I've been able to make apps, websites, and PowerPoints from my tablet and all of a sudden it doesn't work when I try blockly

is there any apps that can fix this problem or a way I can make google work with it?
