ETHNO CYPRUS 2013 - Cyprus - Azizies

Based on the concept of Ethno Camps by Jeunesses Musicales International, and after the success of previous "Ethno Cyprus" project held since 2005, the the Euro-Arab Youth Music Encounter "Ethno Cyprus 2013" was held between 28th Jun and 8th of July 2013. Forty young talented specialists on traditional instruments and vocalists from Belgium, Croatia, Egypt, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon and Cyprus met to explore their common cultural identity. Teaching each other for ten days through music workshops, they created a concert program combining creatively the music sounds of Mediterranean under the artistic leadership of Andreas Christodoulou. The concerts were held on 5th, 6th and 7th July in Limassol and Nicosia. The program was funded by EU "Youth in Action" program and Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture and realized in partnership between Cultural Movement of Limassol EPILOGI -- Jeunesses Musicales Cyprus, Jeunesses Musicales International, Arab Academy of Music of the Arab League, Jeunesses Musicales of Croatia, Jeunesses Musicales Belgium, AGORA Cultural Association from Egypt, Holy Spirit University Kaslik (USEK) from Lebanon and National Music Conservatory of Amman, Jordan. "Ethno Cyprus 2013" was a project of the "Euro-Arab Youth Music Centre" that was launched in Limassol in September 2012.
