I put this song on in the car and my mum who doesn't speak English literally said "now this one I like, unlike that depressing stuff you always listen to"

If someone who didn’t know English listened to this would probably put this on a “good vibes” playlist

It’s weird, coming back to this song after surviving my old attempts in Highschool. I never really planned on making it past 20, but I think I’ve done pretty good for myself. I’ve accomplished more than I thought I could, but things still feel empty. I guess it’s hard to feel anything when all you’ve done for over a decade is survive. Here’s to all of us living one day, instead of getting by

The lyrics are so sad, yet it sounds so happy because of the beat. This sounds basically like depression. Sad on the inside, happy on the outside 8I

i think the reason a song about suicide is so uplifting is because most people that're planning to off themselves soon, their mood is happier and more positive, cause they know the pain will end sooner or later.

To everyone who wants to know how long the paper is:

A standard college ruled notebook page is about 10 and 3/4 inches. That is approx. 33 lines, but counting the lines on this paper in the extra verse, I got approx. 45 lines, if we take into account the going back to the beginning for the chorus and extra lines. Add another line at the bottom, and the paper is about 13 and 3/4 inches.

Not enough people are talking about the child’s verse at the end. It’s where this song really gets me.
I think the last verse can be a flashback of the suicidal person’s past, when they were a kid. When life was easy, fun and enjoyable. It shows how life can mess up someone so bad that a once, innocent, hopeful, cheerful kid can become suicidal. The kid wants to fly, and the suicidal person wants to jump off the building. This might be because they want to “fly” away from their problems and/or it might be because how difficult life has gotten overtime.

it's a common pattern for people to feel a surge of energy and happiness before committing suicide, I believe that's what this song is trying to capture

The fact that most the comments used to be depressed people and now there are so many comments about people revisiting this song when they are older and proud of themself
