My understanding is that the F-16 and Mirage programs aren't yet about *adding* any capabilities, but merely about preventing Ukraine from *losing* capabilities as their existing Soviet airframe stock gets lost to attrition. The western airframes merely need to be adequate replacements.

As a French, I think that there are 2 main reasons
- like the AMX10RC, it's the best we can give without loosing capabilities, and more a political message than anything else
-there were talk to buy Rafales before 2022, so for business it would be kinda like "this is the freemium experience, please buy the full game when you'll have the money for it" "see, we do sweet planes, right?"

a former Rafale pilot made a video about sending mirages to Ukraine. For him, the Mica missile could surprise Russian planes two or three times, because they don't know it. Then the mirage can launch AASM hammer, scalp, it can do anti-drone defense, anti-cruise missiles with the magic2 missile

It is my understanding that the upgraded Mirage 2000 5F delivered to Ukraine are designed to use the Hammer guided munition

They have been given the Mirage 2000s to ensure they can keep firing Scalps. The Su-24s are scarce.
The F16 has likely been used recently in Kursk for A2G, but of course they were never going to be a game changer.
The only game changer that could happen in the air would require something like Australia, UK and France sent in its whole airforces themselves

Mirage gives Ukraine another NATO compliant launch platform, especially for SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles. On top of that they are there to improve the air defense layer to hunt down cruise missiles which the F16's have been doing extensively. There plenty of reporting on shooting down cruise missiles with F16, is it that you simply don't want to do the research?

22:25 for what I understand in our specialist military aircraft news, yes, the whole point of upgrade to the 2000-5 is to be able to use the AASM, with the inertial devices ("centrale à inertie") linked in real time between the bomb and the plane, so the bomb would be more precise than on Su 24 (where inertial guidance is make from the base, but not 'right before launch' on the plane)

What they say, the role is to shot down missiles and drones, and sent AASM and Scalps, basically

the AASM HAMMER has been integrated on the mirage 2000D RMV (renovation mie-vie). And the mirage 2000 was the platform used to certify the AASM guidance systems

This M2000 variance is more advanced than F-16s up to Block 50. More reliable, too. It radar is better than the APG-68, not just the -66, and it’s EW suite is very effective.

the mirage 2000-5 share the scalp capability with the mirage 2000-9. develloped at the same time.and the RDY philosphy is the same as on the rafale: achieving stealth by flying under the radar detection capabilities. Much cheaper than "5 gen" fighters (so called by american propaganda), for the same tactical effect. That's the whole point of the Antilope radar system form the Mirage IV in the beginning, a nuclear strategic bomber at high speed to avoid interception.
