As deserts creep up towards Earth's poles, forests recede, and the biosphere winds down, this song plays, signalling the bittersweet end of life on Earth, having gone out with the forests breathing a final, defiant shout of vitality as the sun became 2% brighter, and life possibly having arisen on Mars around a billion years later. Were humanity still around at the time, we would know that our one true home, the planet that we've existed on since we ever knew, would never again be our home. Earth was where we lived. It was where we were born. It was where we celebrated. Where we fought. Where we died. And where we mourned. We will miss Earth, but will *she* miss *us*? Even if not... Our legacy, and hers as a consequence, are floating out there. We existed. We lived. And this is who we were.
