Back in the days of Quake III, I played on LAN with friends. One of them had FOV 140 or 130 and he was unbeatable. I know a wider FOV lets you see "more world" around you, but it also makes it tiny.

I used lowest one which is 50. I use rifle only, therefore, I need to see enemy first at long distance.

What would be nice is to have a VR headset, but not use any of the motion sensing stuff.
That way you can play normally with mouse and keyboard but have like a 200 FOV and have it all feel normal.

So how does this play into ultra wide monitors? does larger fov just get spread out so it works? or is it just an entirely different beast and has nothing to do with the size?

When you say fov do you refer to the vertical or horizontal fov?

my favorite fov is 80 or 90 because I play with a console it's a best settings but 110 is so messy :( also the setting of doom game is 90

I won't lie, I use an FOV of 140 or 150, but not BF games. I use it for a close combat melee game, Chivalry Medieval Warfare.
