What began as a one-truck operation in 1932, is now turning 90 years old. E.J. Harrison & Sons is a thriving, industry-leading, local trash and recycling hauler. With 233 employees and a green fleet of 125 clean-burning vehicles, we serve more than 90,000 residential and commercial customers, in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Recognized for our sustainability efforts, Harrison is listed annually, on the elite Climate Registry, for fully offsetting our direct greenhouse gas emissions. Most recently, receiving Gold Status after 12 years of reporting – and surpassing net zero in emissions by a remarkable 21 times.

Over 90 years, recycling, landfill diversion, and the battle against climate change have redefined our mission, and helped us to develop strong community ties with our partners at Gold Coast Recycling and Agromin. As we enter a new era of reuse, organics, including food, will be fully recyclable in 2022. For all of our progress, some things have never changed – like our dedication to our employees, to “service first” for every customer, and to giving back, to make our partner communities better places to live. We are proud to have made major contributions over the years to diverse local groups including the Museum of Ventura County, Community Memorial Hospital, the Ventura Pier Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club, Arroyo Verde Park, Serra Cross at Grant Park, Food Share, and the Rubicon Theater.
