I think what you’ve done is amazing Dr. shah! Look where you are now, a kind and considerate Dr, who strives to help and educate us all. I was a teenager in the 1980s, and I remember all the magazines etc actively encouraging us to slather on body oil and bake in the sun! I’m 54 now, and whilst I have some sun spots and melasma, I’ve largely been very fortunate that it’s all I’ve had. Although, given the knowledge I have now ( thanks to you and other dermatologists) I would happily want to undo that damage. Suffice it to say, I now use sunscreen every single day ( irrespective of the weather). So, thank you for all that you do for us. ❤️

I used to tan each day after work cuz my mom watched my kids & it was my relax time. (3 days week). But I had a "freckle" on my upper thigh suddenly appear & got 3x the size with 2 months. My dr asked me about it & did a biopsy. It had cancer cells. I stopped immediately & had the area removed.. And no return of symptoms after quitting tanning. It scared me.

Doctor, everybody makes mistakes, that is absolutely true. I bet you your career right now, that if you knew then, what you know now…, you would have NEVER entertained the thought of the tanning machine, because you know very well how harmful it is.

Thank you for doing what you do, and for being a hero without a cape. What you now- saves lives and/or brings awareness.

Some people do the talk, but, never do the walk. You became a doctor and are helping a little bit one day at a time.

I used to bleach my hair with 40 vol and coconut oil, and now I'm a hairdresser 😅😅😂😂😂

I also tanned as a kid in the 2000s. Of course i absolutely regret it, but it did get rid of all my acne!

Yup !! I am wearing sunscreen, hats, clothes with upf. Avoiding sun as much as possible. And I have been wearing sunscreen constantly for more than 10 hours. 34 now. Unfortunately I didn't earlier, I was lying constantly in the sun in the summer, hours after hours. Tanning with oil. Olive oil 😭 I am light but tan pretty easily. But I am definitely paying for that now, after age 30, melasma came 😬😔 only problem is I am always cold, and I really prefer to be in the sun. Not for tanning but for the heat. Struggle

Thank you for saying this because I've been beating myself for trying some products to get rid of my years old acne marks and ended up with so much active acne. I wouldn't get pimples even if i used bar soap these few years but now i feel like crying. But it's okay, it'll get better.

First job after high school was at a tanning salon employees get unlimited, free tanning. Hence my addiction to bronze skin began so grateful for Bondi sands tan water, w/ hyaluronic acid & vitamin C. keeps me a pecan tan South Florida native & let’s be honest self tanners have come a long way since the “orange days”. Almost 40yrs old now & I always wear sunblock & found a new addiction in skincare & collagen (types 1, 2 & 3) supplements🤷🏼‍♀️😅🤦🏼‍♀️

I worshipped the sun as well as tanning beds for years and years…. Now at 55 I’m definitely paying for it with my skin issues….at this point, all I can do is cleanse….treat……protect 😬….. love the video ❤️
