Thank You! I had a school therapist who convinced me I had heritage/ethnic trauma from my ancestors throughout historical genocide. All he did, for years was manipulate me into having trauma I never had. He was also leading a cult, so there’s that…

When you get trauma from therapy:

No but actually people who use this just don’t want to admit that it’s THIS life in which something traumatic happened, that it’s not “past life’s” fault but it’s someone in this life

I sought counseling years ago. I was in a very vulnerable state. My therapist insisted on using past life therapy. It was utter bullsh*t. It stole my money, my time and my trust in the mental health care system. I didn't seek counseling for years after that. When I did, I found a great therapist and am in a much, much better place. If you aren't moving forward in counseling or if you don't think you are actually working on an issue, find another therapist. Mental health care can work wonders, but there are some bad apples out there.

The worst therapies are those with unhealed therapists including narcissists and sociopaths. Trust me, you don't want to be abused by a therapist, no matter what method it is.

We already know that ppl can have fake memories implanted. This is dangerous on so many levels

I have plenty of trauma in this life to process, thank you very much.

I had someone tell me that every bad thing that happened in my life was my fault for how I lived a past life. Which makes no sense.

My aunt did this with me when i was in college, and her helping me process my past life trauma or whatever was to remember being held by my father(her brother) in this life. Guess who’s the root of most of my trauma for this life?? I’m ganna have to agree with this dude, use trained professionals.

What I find interesting is that these past lives are often (if not almost always) very interesting. A lot of noblemen and women. Rarely do you hear someone tell you that they were a gutter cleaner, peasant or factory worker in a past life.

I once had a psychic tell me that in a past life i was a warlord with a lot of blood on my hands and that im still paying off the karmic debt of this past life, which might explain why i roll the most nat 1s in my D&D group

I have two questions on that, that are probably referred to in the main episode... The first one is "to those who done such therapy did they actually experienced an improve? What are the numbers on that?" And the second one "is it possible that the brain creates the scenarios of the, so called, past lifes to keep the patient from getting sick or sicker from the trauma?"

I don't even need to go back that far. 1995-2005 was easily the source of 100% of my trauma. I remember it all pretty clearly. Lol. I can see how that could be exploitative as a practice though.

Most therapists need major therapy themselves

Psychotherapist: Okay, now, where do you see it all started??

Patient: It all started when I got rejected from this art school in my previous life.

My first psychatrist asked me about every single little detail of my most traumatic experiences. Those details had zero effect on my treatment but absolutely wrecked my mental health for months.

To some extent I can understand where the idea might come from, because things like generational trauma are real where you are experiencing trauma because a relative before you faced trauma and passed it down.

This is literally what is done in Scientology.

I have been a therapist for a dozen years and it’s shocking how difficult it is for some therapists just to meet their clients where they’re at, instead of pushing their own agenda.
