To add onto the speculation, when a caterpillar becomes a Butterfly, it *technically* dies in the coccoon and is reborn as a butterfly. So the Smokes being tied into Player/Teammate death isn't too farfetched (maybe it gives your Teammate 1 Smoke to use or something).

riot confirmed last year that they would never add any mechanics to the game when you die other than spectating and non-interfering gameplay because that's not the games "original intention", so they wont ever add that afterlife smoke mechanic.

1. Timed smokes, were the agent can deploy a smoke normally, or alternatively time the smoke so it starts in 20 seconds as a max also reduced sounds when inside smoke making for swift kills

I think an interesting idea is if teammates can interact with the smokes or deploy them themselves, maybe agent 25 will place cocoons around the map and your teammates can shoot them to release a swarm of butterflies as a smoke

it would be cool if the ultimate was some sort of game round cam, kind of like cyphers but where the attackers are going and once the game is over it shows u the footage…. kind of like a replay system

my prediction is an agent where you can place smokes in a limited area but maybe once or twice a round you have an abililty where you can tp into one of your smokes maybe in like a swarm of butterflies to make it visible to the enemy team.

I think the idea is that you will get an after death smoke for every kill you get that round

I think the new smoke will be a “point-and-click” controller. In the sense that you put your crosshair exactly where you want your smoke and then click the ability key to place it on the crosshair.

This makes sense because it is new and different than any other smoke, fitting the “new life” description. As well as being aggressive, because unlike other controllers, placing a smoke wouldn’t hinder your ability to play aggressive.

This may be too OP for individual play, but it’s probably balanced by the fact that crossmap smokes and team play will be neutered due to the smokes being dependent on LoS.

Based on the new hint the new agent prolly could trigger something with his/her death.

To match the visual in the teaser card, maybe he/she has an ability to insta-revive themselves when they die so they could continue fighting. And during the reviving process a smoke could pop up and you'll be seen as a butterfly metamorphing out of the cocoon/smoke.

OR maybe you won't getvrevived BUT a butterfly creature might appear out of the smoke cocoon.

she is going to be able to come back to life according to a new pheonix voice line. It was somthing like "The other team is going to freak when me and the new kid both come back to life" -pheonix

My imagination: I think we can control those butterflies like Skye flash but where the butterfly lands there will be instant smoke and they are saying that she's like omen so I think that she definitely has a flash
