That sounds like a filter with a plastic bad on it

It sounds like coil whine, which is common on any motor. Even blower motors tend to do this over time or there was a bushing that went bad. Just because you got a lemon motor doesn't mean their all junk my guy. Just get it warrantied out no big deal.

Ours has been great so far. I use it to purify the air where one of our cats (with a chronic lung condition) sleeps.

Did you remove the plastic of the filter before you turned it on? I got one and doesn’t make that noise. Still testing it.

I came to the comments to say you must have a defective one, because I've been looking into this model before I purchase it today and it seems to be a pretty solid unit. But it looks like it is merely a severe user error 😂

If you won't take any advice in life, at least take this: Always read installation/operating manuals! I don't care if it's for a blender, for a ceiling fan, or for a car. Unless you are literally an expert in everything, odds are you will learn at least one new thing if you crack open the pamphlet. If you don't have one to an old device, odds are you can search by brand and model and find the PDF on one of the websites that keeps a database of manuals.

I have 3 of them and all works perfectly! Maybe you did a mistake on filter replacement.. I recommend this brand cause its 1 of the best.

Did you take off the plastic bag of the filter when you bough it? Okay you need to check the fan and see if something stuck around it.

Yours is defective. I have the same one for one year now and it does works perfectly. That noise is not normal.
