Pomelo is a member of citrus fruit which look like a giant grapefruit. To enjoy the sweet flesh, you need to cut and peel off a very thick rind; it does take a bit of time and patience.

Pomelo taste a lot like a mild grapefruit, not as sour, and without the common grapefruit's bitterness.

How to Cut and Eat a Pomelo:
Cut the top off
Score 4 vertical lines down the side of Pomelo, about half inch into the rind.
Dig your fingers underneath and pull each one away.
Peel away skin surrounding the flesh.
Pull flesh slices apart.

Thanks. This was helpful. Just got one and cut it and tried it. I like it. It's like a grapefruit but less bitter. I like trytnew fruits and vegetables. I'm surprised I have never had a pomelo. Peace.
