that was tiny, long time ago inside Borneo you can find tapah easily bigger than human, but now logging changes everything.

This is the best fishing show ever. Most other ones stick to teaching YOU how to fish but river monsters is unique and amazing

There's something gratifying about seeing a man catch something he's chased for years.

At my hometown, there's one guy manage to fish Tapah 10ft long. When I was a kid, we can get Tapah easily, but nowadays there's less and less of this species. I once manage to fish one around 6kg. Damn, this beast know how to make your reel smoking!

Before development, this fish were huge and killed children playing in water.
There are old pictures that shown when an adult sit on Tapah, their legs are still hanging !!! Monsters are the 150++kg fish !!! But that was old days of bygone area.
Soldiers are known to throw grenades when crossing a river to have huge Tapah. Maybe related to Wells Catfish

The reason most of us admire Jeremy cuz he respects everyone's sentiments. He has gone round the world and in every corner he just respects to the beliefs of the locals.

we here something like that in cambodia, don't know the name. 15 years ago, you can find large ones. I mean big ass fish at local fish market, but they had been over fished so now the ones you see don't usually get over 3 feet. so sad

What he caught is not a real Tapah (Wallago attu), this is his little bit more chubby cousin the Striped Wallago (Wallago leeri). This species is much more easy to catch and lives in habitats with less currents.
