Показать описание
NGC 6946 is a SAB spiral galaxy between the constellations Cygnus and Cepheus.

If we observe a spiral galaxy with the NRAO Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array we can obtain information about its three-dimensional dynamic structure.

The spectral line observed here is that of the 1420 MHz neutral hydrogen line. This radio data cube shows right ascension and declination sky axes, as well as a third axis of frequency. This 3D rendering of the data seen here shows the dynamic structure and rotation of this spiral galaxy.
