"SPARTANS ARE THE DEFENDERS OF HUMANITY" - immediately cuts to multiplayer footage of Spartans beating the living christ out of other Spartans

The casual nod he gives the civilian before killing brutes is the most Spartan thing, I love it
Edit: So some people in the comments are saying Spartans would never be this informal. I'll remind you that the first human ever to find himself face to face with the Prophets of Truth and Mercy was John 117. The first word he said in their presence was "Boo."

Everyone: *seeing an injured Spartan*
Me: That's that one homie that probably carried his team.

Good to see that even in the 2500s, during an alien invasion, Big Ben still stands.

I actually like how similar this is to how in 4 some Spartan 4s will talk to Chief like "hey you saved me years ago, thanks". Kinda touches that new generation of spartans nicely

Really good trailer tbh, having the perspective of a civilian watching Spartans drop in pods like angels from heaven to save the day and then going on to become a spartan herself, this gets me hyped for what's to come. I can feel the H2 and ODST vibes throughout the entirety of the video, hopefully those feelings don't stay on the trailer.

It's cool to see how massive everything in Halo really is compared to a regular sized human

This was a fantastic trailer! I'm excited if each season is getting something like this!

I like that casual little nod the Spartan gives to the civillian like "Hey, don't worry you're gonna be fine."

The Spartans arrive at 1:17, neat lil nod to the Chief if it's done on purpose or not.

"Why are you here?"

Griff: "Its one of life's great mysteries, I mean why are we here?"

I partially expected to see ODSTs in those drop pods, but Spartans are always a welcomed surprise! Bravo!

Almost forgot how intimidating the brutes and other battle bois can look when you're not a genetically altered super soldier.

Holy shit they're massive compared to her and it gives you the perfect glimpse into how scary they can be when you're just a civ.
Now I feel bad for all the ODST troops who charge into battle without Spartan or Heavy support.

They all have standard gear too.

The piano riff at 1:50 I literally can’t contain my excitement

Seeing the plasma hit the Spartans armor and have him tank it like a champ, best part. Sounds so heavy and tank-like. Love it!!

Something I never thought about, that has so much possibility: the Bungie games are nearly a decade past in-lore at this point. Recruits in their young 20s entering the UNSC were still kids when Reach fell, when Earth was occupied. They weren’t even fully adults yet when humanity was nearly destroyed. They literally “grew up” with the events of the original games. Kind of crazy.

Maybe someday in the future the Halo timeline will get far enough along that younger Spartans were born after the war. The first generation in half a century not born into a losing war that seemed to promise humanity’s extinction. They would look back at the events of the Bungie games how we look back at the Gulf War or Vietnam or WW2. That’s such a wildly different perspective than any we’ve gotten form characters in Halo before. Could be really interesting to explore the difference in how post-war generations compare psychologically to people who grew up under the threat of imminent extinction. Having some younger soldiers making light of the war as people tend to do of past events, and then being put in their place by some grizzled old Marine sergeant who fought with the Chief on Earth, etc.

When a video game made a better recuitment ad than the actual US army ad
