Hi, I took this to a mechanic who managed to snap the pipe from the exhaust manifold as he claims it was seized due to the temperature cycles it experiences. How common is this and is it a big job to tap out the broken piece of pipe that's stuck in the manifold?

I have a good earth. 4.9v ref. But nothing on the 3rd wire. Should I have 12v there? You ever come across bad wiring ? Mines on a merc citan but I think it should be a similar setup it’s all got the diamond of doom stamped all over this too

How complicated was the pipe replacement? Did you try to clean the pipe (ex. by inserting a cable into the hole) before replacing it?

I have a mercedes c220 class 2013. It has the engine light on and when I took it to a garage it was "exhaust back pressure sensor 1 has malfunction.the signal offset is outside the permissible range". Can I drive the on long distance (60 miles)? I have an appointment at a garage on Sunday, but I'll need to go somewhere before that. Thank you.

Hi, helpful video, thanks. I have an issue with the exhaust back pressure sensor on my 2011 Mercedes e350 cdi with the om642 265 engine. If I replace the sensor does the ecu recognise it? I ask because I had an issue after changing the air filters and replacing the 'batwing' maf sensor.

I have a 2017 mercedes vito van. Keep getting this fault code for back pressure sensor. Been into garage & had new sensor & pipe etc fitted (pipe had snapped) 2 days later light was back on with same fault. Back to garage & had DPF flushed out & did a DPF regen.
Light back on with same fault code next day. Any idea what else we can try?

The pipe is so expensive (175 ive been priced but found it on ebay for 130. Do you have any suggestions where to buy the sensor from as I can't find the same sensor anywhere online? Also what are the consequences for not resolving this issue?

Ive replaced back pressure sensor on my sprinter but still getting p047162 code.... so it could be a clogged pipe from sensor to DPF right? Many thanks

I have the same problem, back presure sensor on a b180.
Just bought the car so im afraid if the problem is wider than just the sensor. Is it usually just a bad sensor or does it mean anything worse?

Mercedes ML350 Bluetec (W164?) displays check-engine light. I use a iCarsoft MBII scanner. If I use Mercedes category then read no fault code. If I use OBD II category then read P0471 fault code. I have replaced a new sensor and checked the sensor's wiring 1(5v) 2(ground) 3(signal) are all ok. I use a multimeter measure pin-3 and get 0.82v when engine is not running, and get 0.86v when engine is running. The car shows engine hesitation problem when driving. Turn off key, turn engine on again, then the problem is gone sometimes. Any thoughts? Appreciate any suggestions.

The P0471, P00AB fault codes are permanent now. How can I clear them?
