Knowing how to detail beam reinforcement is important for structural engineers. Not just beam detail, structural detailing itself is an important step for structural design. In this video I have explained beam reinforcement detailing when the levels of beams are not same.
This beam detail is applicable to floor beams and the methods mentioned are even applicable for plinth beam reinforcement details.

I have explained two situations in the beam detail
1) The beam bottom level is not same
2) The top levels are not same

Three reasons why understanding of structural detailing is important.
1) Structural detailing is the only language by which a structural engineer can convey the design intent to site
2) Client knows your expertise seeing the quality of your structural drawings
3) You will receive less Request for information from site during construction which can save your time.

If you are keen to learn structural detailing including beam reinforcement detail and detailing of all other structural members, consider my courses.

Actually, I am experiencing the last case in this video where top of both beams is not flushed, its a difference of 4-6 inches. Do we need to release moment at that specific point?
