It's weird how many car reviews knock popular cars as 'bad' or 'terrible.' If they're selling so well, maybe the reviewers don't get what regular people want in a car.

I have the 1.5 zs current model. Its fine, absolutely no issues - a little underpowered on the motorway but thats it. This rectifies that and adds so much more- its a game changer.

Now wait a minute, that’s actually a really smart looking interior. Funnily enough, the dash design and airvents especially remind me of those found in the Lamborghini Urus. Go figure!

Cracking review of the Hybrid but I'm going to wait for the HS hybrid comes out but this certainly gives me a good idea😊

Nice review, does look like a good improvment.
I have the first gen ZS EV and must admit i dont understand the ride comfort - its just fine, just say sharp bumos upsets it a bit, but otherwise very comfortable.

Ford, Nissan, Volkswagen Renault and Stellantis brands have all decided to neglect the lower end of the auto market and foolishly decided to set minimum pricing for their new models starting at £30-£35k. Its kind of the opposite of what BMW and Mercedes did in the 2000's when they moved into the lower end of the market to improve profitability. This has allowed the likes of MG and Chery to move into the lower end of the market which in the current cost of living crisis with (high interest rates) for the foreseeable future, is a huge market. The response by the legacy manufacturers is to demand tariffs on Chinese car manufacturers because the legacy manufacturers want to sell substandard products at a high price

MG are very aggressively updating their cars. I think they must be worrying the European car makers now.

It seems to be a very fair deal and good value for money. For people who do not thousends or hundreds of miles every and want just to go from a to b, it is a competetive car for their budget.
And let us face it: when KIA started with the 7 year warrenty back in the days, their cars weren't as nearly perfect as they are now!
And we also know, how quick Chinese manifacturer improve their products, because they listen very intensive to the customer. Especially to European customer and the testers.

Come on What Car, do your research properly. The previous MG ZS EV has the full suite of safety Equipment, MG Pilot. Can we rely on any of the information in this review?

So...forget manufacturer mpg because we all know they are usually fairly wildly exaggerated, what was the mpg you got during the review?

Just celebrating our first 3 months with our petrol MG-ZS 1.0 liter turbo with manual transmission, panoramic sun roof (moon roof?) that OPENS, electric seats, full 360° camera (never thought about having one - but now I use it to park and love it!!), leatherette seats, electric driver’s seat and with a €40 CARABC adapter - full wireless Apple CarPlay which is super. On a recent 700 km trip with my mountain bike on the removable trailer hitch consumed 5.8 liters/100 km (driving at 100 km/hr in NL) which is over 48 miles/UK gallon; over 40 US miles/US gallon! OK this drops when I drive 130 km/hr in Germany or France but hey, not complaining - better than I was told I’d do by the dealer! Comfortable, roomy, good looking - I’ve had people come up to me and say “What’s this car? It’s really sharp, good-looking!” Hey, it’s not going to win a formula-1 race nor even challenge my 163 horse Volvo S60 diesel— but for camping, shopping - easy parking and “step-up” to get in (unlike our Mini Cooper where we had to ‘sink-down’ to get in) (still loved the Mini!) — OK this ZS is not going to be for everyone - but for €24, 000 WITH the trailer hitch and all carpeting etc. etc. — it is about half the price of a Toyota Corolla; €12k less than a Toyota Yaris (which has manual driver’s seat; no manual transmission option, not panoramic roof that OPENS)— and about 1/3 the price of a much bigger Rav4 (I’ve had 2 Rav4’s and great car - but really getting €€€£££$$$ in Belgium…) Will this car last 10 years? I hope so - driving only about 1000 km/month - that’s not a lot! Hope you don’t mind that I made this a rather L-O—N——G comment but really pleased with our 2024 MG-ZS (white). Steve on the first day of autumn 2024.

When the car turns on, does the radio also turn on. Is there a physical off switch? When in a Bluetooth call, does the screen go back to home screen so you can turn on the ac. I know you can turn on the fan, but can you turn on the ac during Bluetooth calls? Is there any turbo lag? Does the Apple car play and android auto drop out when plugged in via cable? All issues in the previous mg zst. Please answer these questions?

Only up and down adjustment in a car this size (or frankly of any size in 2024) is a bit poor, but otherwise seems like an improvement over the older model and the old model looked extremely outdated in and out pretty much at introduction so it was about time to get a new model. But I would be more interested in the Duster personally if I was going for a petrol car of this size.

This new version looks like a worthwhile improvement over the outgoing model. I may be tempted to take a look when the time comes to change my car... Given the comments in the video regarding the way it drives, I would want to drive it before I bought it though!

Replicating almost all the shortcomings of the mg3+, steering wheel ergonomics, driver comfort, Kumo tyres, noise, ...
Still 28k euros announced for the luxury fit in Belgium. The only appeal over the others is that engine, but if it is weird to steer, what's the point.

Is it just me or does this not look like the new Ford Kuga from the outside?

Is this the hybrid version of MG Astor

I’m really confused about this car. Isn’t the ZS supposed to be more the size of a 2008 or a Captur? So now that it’s a similar size to a Qashqai, in the class above, what will happen to the HS? And will there be a smaller SUV model to fill the gap?
