If they continue to use it, why do I expect the next iPhone to be $1000 but it actually turns out to be $300 dollars more

Anyone who's a music producer and who regularly shops for sample packs will come across this regularly. Honestly turns me off more than anything, but if the samples are good, I'm buying it 😅

Price anchoring then: $1000 phone for $500!

Price anchoring now: $1000 phone for $1500 because it has a new camera and a useless-to-a-daily-consumer sensor. Oh yeah and without the charging brick

When Steve jobs walked onto the stage to a standing ovation. It was because he returned back to Apple after fighting cancer. Had an operation, which unfortunately didn’t get everything. They were celebrating his return

If only he was as good of a person as he was a businessman

Fun fact: when the ipad was being rumoured, people called it the “I-Tampon” (source: Steve jobs’s Autobiography)

"Apple still does price anchoring to this day"
Tell that to the fancy $500 mac wheels that don't even lock

I think it’s pretty funny, how a brand new iPhone 12 only costs 600 after 1 year after its initial release, where the starting price was 1200. This is a complete scam

“Apple still uses these marketing techniques”
Apple: so we’re gonna remove the charger from the box but charge you the same

Not really forgotten when it's used a lot these days

I think people forget that around that time tablets from other competitors were $1000-$2000 and not nearly as smooth/nice as the iPad. The price was also only possible thanks to Tim Cook securing good deals with Chinese manufacturers.

So very true. Price anchoring actually helps you increase sales. The potential client may have a higher chance of choosing 1 of multiple packages from you, instead of choosing from a competitor.

It actually made sense. Based on the market at the time, it only made sense to price the original iPad at 999. In fact Apple was the company to really start this trend in the tech industry, of coming out with a much better and superior product to what else is out there in that market, and not price gouging. Now other companies create "flagship killers" and enter a market with lower prices.

I don't know why people admire him so much. Such an unremarkable human being

analyst actually: Steve, this product is just a big phone that you can't even call anyone with, no one will pay more than 100$ for this
Steve: Hold my iPhone!

I still have my ipad 1 and I'm proud of it, I jailbreaked it, installed apps, games and it works like a charm

Yeah but nowadays prices are still too high. You'd rather get an android less price higher quality even though apple has an easier user interface
