NEW HORIZONS PART 2 - Fluid Art Painting Techniques

Показать описание
New Horizons Part 2 is a combination of fluid art and acrylic painting. I have to say right at the outset of this video, that I am not really happy with the finished result, but then this was an experiment and I probably pushed it to my limits as a painter. Perhaps I am too honest for my own good, but I know that I over complicate things and looking back there was a point where I just should have stopped. However, thats how you get better isn't it? You correct your mistakes next time round.

Some of the colours used are:
Folk Art Aqua Flash
Pebeo 357 and 360
Graduate Acrylic Indigo
24k Gold by Deco Art
Other colours are made up of 'table paint' (leftovers scrapped up).

My Recipes:
POURING MEDIUM:
700ml of PVA Glue mixed with 300ml water.

COLOURS:
1 part paint mixed with 2 parts pouring medium
add water to correct required consistency

LACING/CELL ACTIVATORS:
Each one of the 3 recipes below will give you varying results

Amsterdam Titanium White
Pouring Medium (as above)
1 tbsp Acrylic Polymer Gloss Varnish
Based on 20 grams of paint to 40 grams of Pouring Medium

Hi Julie, As always one of the things I like most about your art is the honesty of your approach and attitude to the painting. This is such an inspiring idea. Who says fluid art should just be fluid? You push the boundaries and it works!! Beautiful. :)

I love that you are learning through your videos and allowing us to learn with you. I've been reworking old paintings and blending pours with brush work but have a long way to go. Thanks for being inspirational!

The experiment was a complete success. Very lively despite the dark shades. White solves a lot of things. I am kidding. The technique, the experiment, the colors are all perfectly captured in the picture. Measured by my taste. I’ve already wondered how the best have few followers. I know the answer. 💯👏👍💪

I like your painting a lot. I did a similar type of painting a few months ago where I did pouring and acrylic painting. I enjoyed it so much. It gave me more control of the composition and I was less stressed. That painting sold so quickly that I was shocked. Look forward to your next one.
