Hey Rob neat trick, when I was In the Marines We used to put our Utility Covers over a Plastic Bucket and use Spray Starch, it dried clear and it kept its shape for quite a while, could use on Wool I guess, and it would be a Little Water Proof as well....

Good video & tips. It works better than starch especially for protecting against rain. Be careful on which brand you use though if you have breathing issues even outside. Some of its strongly scented. Helps the Mohawk haircut.

my hat is a floppy hillbilly hat and Im trying to make it like the Australian ww2 hat. do I need to use clothing starch at anytime during the process? Do you think it would be better than hairspray?
