these highlights show that the Pistons weren't just about playing thug basketball. The Pistons matched the Bulls shot for in this game, with isiah, joe d, vinnie johnson, mark aguire and laimbeer stepping up and hitting crucial buckets time after tine in order to put Jordan and the bulls away. Tge bad boys were a better team.

As hard as it might be to believe with how dominant they were in the 1990s, this 1989 season was the first time in Bulls franchise history that they had ever won 2 playoff series in the same season. This was unchartered territory for this franchise at the time.

For the youngins in here, look at how the paint was packed. You had to earn everything back then. I miss those days.

We all have been shown a thousand times that back to de basket score from Jordan but that game is another Isiah Thomas' masterclass. That rebound on Grant and the break pass on Dumars, the steal on the pass to Hodges, the second half shooting streak... absolute gold.

All other teams in the East folded under the Pistons - including the Celtics, Sixers and New York. But the Bulls just kept coming! I hated the Bulls Back then - Now I respect Jordan like no other. He was truly an amazing athlete!

Problem with these highlights is that they do not include most of the plays that really won the game for the Pistons, i.e. their suffocating halfcourt defense.

What is even more impressive is that Thomas didn’t had a teammate at the level of Pippen.. I wonder why Thomas is almost never even in the top 20 list by many . For me he could even reach top 10 !!

Watching these old games I'm always amazed by how much credit Isiah gets for really impressive play by Joe Dumars.

It's impressive to see that players didn't travel at that time. In the 90s they started taking at least another half a step. Nowadays they just go hiking with the ball to position themselves wherever they want

MJ's steal, then spin on Laimbeer 35 years later is as fun to watch now as it was then. Never get tired of the replay. Paxson, Hodges gave the Bull's the 3 threat which mitigated to some degree the double teams on MJ.

Too many shots from Chicago but Detroit kicked their ass

Damn, i would of been such a Pistons fan back in the day. Everyone sucking off Mj and saying how great he is, Mj crying in the media how the Pistons are dirty, and everyone jumping to that ship.

Scottie: 1989 - Quits 1 min into an elimination game. 1990 - Game 7 migraine excuse. 1994 - Refuses to take the court when the play isn't called for him, forgetting he bricked off the side of the backboard the prior play.

How can you wrote in title that Jordan scored 32 points and not mentioned about Thomas's 33pts?
