My tip is for container vegetable gardening on a budget. I fill the bottom 1/3 of the container with packing peanuts, then fill with soil. This cuts the weight and amount of soil needed, and ensures air flow for the roots. So far, 5+ years, so good!

Cardboard works great for free weed control too. Stores are generally happy to give them to you.

I bought a low garden seat from Home Depot that opens to a roomy place for my garden tools. It doesn’t let the rain in, I can stand on it to reach the top of a trellis or a handy seat when I need a rest!

I was really enjoying all the great information on how to make gardening a little easier for me and for me to start trying to reuse repurpose more of what I already own and have and reuse the information about the Plate in the garden was a really great one. I never thought about it. Thanks so much. I always learned so many things from watching YouTube videos. Once again I joined your channel. I’ve used pool noodles and package foam to fill large planters . It reduces waste, less soil needed and best of all the planters aren’t too heavy !

Very nice video. Thanks. As an 72 year old gardener, I'm always up for new ideas or rethinking old ideas with a new twist.

When planting in a big pot, I use groundcloth to cover the drain holes so dirt won’t leak out, put gravel on top of that and then put recyclables into the pot before filling with dirt( then it’s not too heavy to move ) ❤️😊👍🏻. I will sometimes bury a gallon milk jug that I’ve poked holes in and bury it so the cap is the same level as the plant, then fill with water to keep plants watered👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 16:59

Some bakeries will give or sell buckets cheap, 1 gallon, 2-3 gallon or even 5 gallon buckets from frosting. You have to clean them yourself, but they work put holes in the bottom and some meat departments especially small meat departments like Hispanic they get sour cream, different kinds, and different containers, and I have one locally that I asked him to save them for me and they saved me a whole bunch. So you gotta check back pretty often.

Another way to store tools in the garden is to mount a mailbox within easy reach- keeps rain out and easy access.

If you rinse your rice before cooking don't throw the water away, use the water as fertilizer for your plants. It's amazing how well they grow after a boost from rice water. And, if course it's free. 😊🌿🌿🌸

news flash. In my community area, there are no more newspapers. Any news about the community is online. It is so sad. I used to love opening the newpapper with
my morning coffee. Gone are the good old days.
